Your client area password is the one you use to log in and manage your services. It is separate from the passwords of the servers themselves, and from your Backup Stor and mailbox passwords — changing it does not affect any of those.
Changing it
- Log in to your client area at my.sayob.com.
- Open the menu next to your name in the top right corner and go to your account settings.
- Choose the option to change your password.
- Enter your current password, then the new one twice.
- Save the changes.
You stay logged in after the change; other sessions are ended.
If you have forgotten it
Use the Forgot password link on the login page. A reset link is sent to the email address registered on the account.
If you no longer have access to that address, open a ticket — though note that we cannot simply change the address on request, since that would defeat the purpose of the reset. We will need to verify that the account is yours.
Each user has their own password
If colleagues have their own access to your account, each of them logs in with their own email address and password, and changes it themselves. You do not need to know or share it — see How do I give a colleague access to my client area?
When someone leaves, remove their access rather than changing your own password. Changing yours does nothing about their account.
Choosing a password
Your client area controls your servers, your billing and your services, so it deserves a strong, unique password rather than one reused elsewhere. Consider enabling two-factor authentication in your account settings as well: a password alone can be leaked from a completely unrelated site.
If you cannot change your password or the reset email does not arrive, open a ticket from your client area — or, if you cannot log in at all, contact us by email from the address registered on the account.
