The Red Button service lets you control access to your data quickly, using the Telegram or Viber messenger on your phone.
What is it for?
Without any administration skills, special software, or physical access to the server or its console, you can restrict access to your data by simply sending a message from your smartphone. The data itself is not damaged.
How does it work?
Two short steps activate the service, after which your server can be controlled from an ordinary phone.
As soon as you send us your key phrase through the messenger, your server environment is blocked within a few seconds. The server is not switched off — only its network connection is fully blocked.
Remember to set up a key phrase for unblocking as well, and keep it somewhere you can reach it. Without it you will not be able to restore access yourself.
Who can use it, and how?
The service is available to any of our clients with an active virtual or dedicated server.
You will find it in your client area under Red Button:
- On the main page of your client area, click Key phrase settings.
2. On the page that opens, read the description and click Add new phrase.
3. In the dialog, enter the key phrase you have chosen, select the action it should trigger, and then select the server it applies to.
4. Click Add. Once the key phrase has been added successfully, it appears on the main page of the Red Button service.
Before you rely on it
The service works through Telegram or Viber, so the messenger account must be connected to your client area beforehand. Choose a key phrase you will not send by accident in ordinary conversation, and test the service once while everything is calm — not at the moment you actually need it.
If you have any questions about the service, open a ticket from your client area.
